Today, AIC remembers the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. This horrific tragedy that claimed the lives of many innocent people continues to affect individuals around the world and continues to drive AIC’s work. It is the terrorist actions of a few cowardly individuals that prompted the creation of AIC and why we continue to strive for change: change among individuals, change among and within societies, and change within ourselves. Education will be that driver of change. Only when individuals are educated about the world around them and the people they share the world with will they begin to speak out against extremism and terror. This is our hope as we and other like-minded individuals continue to push for this very important change.
