“AIC Extends Sympathy to the People of Belgium and Condemns Terrorist Attacks”
(Washington, D.C., 3/23/16) – The American Islamic Congress (AIC), first and foremost, extends the deepest sympathies with the people of Belgium following the terrorist attacks that took place yesterday morning. AIC expresses solidarity with the 31 killed, the 270 wounded, and all of the victims’ families. AIC vehemently condemns the violent attacks, to which ISIS has taken credit, and encourages resilience and the promotion of peace in the face of terrorism.
Unfortunately, the tragedy in Brussels is one of many ongoing acts of terrorism across the globe. Now more than ever, AIC is strengthening its commitment to community engagement efforts in countering violent extremism. In partnership with law enforcement and government entities, AIC is working with families and youth within communities and on university campuses across the United States to put an end to violent extremist language and behavior.
