AMSTERDAM, June 21, 2012 — Last week, AIC’s Executive Director, Zainab Al-Suwaij, traveled to the Netherlands for a number of lectures and a master class on various topics, including the position of Muslim women in the Middle East, as well as intercultural and interfaith dialogue between East and West. These events were part of the Edward Schillebeeck Chair for Theology and Society and De Nieuwe Liefde initiative. De Nieuwe Liefde (The New Love), an initiative started in 2011, aims to create a more civil and decent climate for thought, speech and interaction about the Islam. De Nieuwe Liefde has developed an “Islam Project” that focuses on reaching this goal in a series of programs and activities.
