Conflict Resolution
In 2008, AIC in collaboration with Cure Violence, launched the Ambassador’s for Peace initiative in Basrah, Iraq to reduce violence and encourage peaceful conflict resolution. Today, the program has expanded to Baghdad and has successfully mediated 540 potentially lethal conflicts.
Government Relations
At a time of new global opportunities and challenges, AIC provides pluralistic insights and policy solutions to decision makers in government, international institutions, the private sector, and civil society through its Office of Government Relations. AIC conducts constituency mobilization, research, analysis of policy, develops outreach and partnering initiatives that look to build interfaith and interethnic understanding and cooperation.
Protection of Marginalized Individuals
Protection of Marginalized Individuals (PMI) is an AIC outreach and education initiative in Baghdad, Iraq that works to aid and empower individuals who practice alternative lifestyles. Specifically, those who face violence due to their real or perceived sexual orientation, those who engage in “alternative” behaviors or lifestyles and those who face honor crimes.
